Our Weimaraners
Dakota
Am/Can Ch. Valmar's Unanimous Decision, NSD, CGC, BROM
Ch. Valmar's Apache Rebel, BROM x Ch. Valmar's Nite N Gale, BROM
Born January 26, 1997, Hips OFA Excellent, Thyroid Normal
Did I ever get lucky when Joan Valdez entrusted me with Dakota as my
first Weimaraner and first show dog. Dakota won his
Futurity under Mrs. Ann Rogers Clark and his Maturity under Mr. Carl
Liepman. Under the guidance of Pam & Al Sage, he became a
multiple group winner, and was a Top 10 show dog for three consecutive
years. Dakota is the sire of more than
30 American Champions (plus 20 Canadian Champions), and he is among the
Top 50 BROM sires all time!
Over the years he has proven himself to be a
consistent producer of high drive puppies with great rears, smooth
necks and shoulders, and very showy attitudes. At 12 years young, he is
the king of the castle in our home and demands attention - on his
terms! We are proud of the puppies he has sired (and will continue to
sire through his frozen semen), and extremely proud of the health and
longevity he and his pedigree exhibit.
Bob
Ch. Unity's Golden Boy
Ch. Colsidex Big Spender x Ch. Seabreeze Colsidex Sand Cliff
Born May 13, 2007, Hips OFA Excellent, Thyroid Pending, Longhair Negative
When Judy Colan told us she had 20-year-old semen from Bob's sire,
Robert, our interest was piqued. We asked other Weimaraner breeders
(Chris Grisell, Jane Ghomprecht & Lou Schnegelberger) what they
knew of Robert, and the reports were glowing. We then leased Bob's dam,
"Tiva" for this breeding, and on the second attempt at artificial
insemination, five male puppies were born (dubbed 'The Bobs').
Bob has been a wonderful addition to our home, with his incredible love
of people, and a deep-rooted desire to please. He was awarded Best Dog
in Central Futurity in 2008, and finished his Championship the next day
under Mr. Everett Dean. Bob is a terrific swimmer and retriever, and he
is in early training for his CD. With a boy this versatile and
determined to please, it would be a shame not to pursue some goals.
Later this year, Bob will have the following lovely ladies coming
to be bred to him. Each of these litters are nice linebreedings and
should produce puppies who will be healthy, with good temperaments, and
suitable for success in the show ring and other performance venues.
Ch. Elite's Sand Castle (OFA Fair) whelped a litter of 4 girls and 3 boys on January 5, 2010. Contact Chris Herbold in Florida for more information.
In
late January, 4 boys and 3 girls were born from the beautiful and
talented Ch. Arnstadt's Belle of the Ball, TD (OFA Excellent). Contact Liz Raiman in the Chicago area.
Splash
Unity's Color Splash
Am/Can/Int'l Ch Win'Weim-Graytsky Cowboy Boots, JH x Ch Unity's
Juscanis Sure Thing
Born July 23, 2009
Splash is one of two puppies we are keeping from our breeding of
Lucchese to Surely. She has a great attitude about life, is well
behaved, extremely outgoing, and loves to give high 5s! She will make
her show debut in January, and we anticipate she will do very well. She
is a welcome addition to the Unity family.
Splash
has become a world traveler, and has immigrated to Canada for a few
months. She will be shown to her Canadian Championship by Kim Boucher,
and may make an appearance or two as her daughter's Junior Handling
comrade. Watch for her to really make a "splash" on the Canadian show scene!
Laverne
Unity's Laverne Defazio
Am/Can/Int'l Ch Win'Weim-Graytsky Cowboy Boots, JH x Ch Unity's
Juscanis Sure Thing
Born July 23, 2009
Laverne is Splash's evil sister. She is a LOT outgoing, and recently
made quite a lasting impression at the Doberman National, being the
apple of many peoples' eyes. She loves to leap through the air, get on
the couch, and dig really big holes in the yard... but that's all in
the life of a spunky puppy! To say we are excited about her future
would be an understatement, so keep an eye out for her in a ring near
you in 2010.!
FLASH! Laverne made her ring debut on the Florida January circuit, and went Winners Bitch under Dr. Stephen Herman!
