Antsy
was, well... antsy. Her name fit her perfectly, as she was a
bundle of wiggles. Her personality was filled with humor, and
she could be found rolling on her back, smiling at us, or just
wiggling her entire body. It seemed that everything she did made
us laugh.
Antsy was shown sparingly as
a puppy, but whenever she was shown, she competed well, either
winning the points or at least winning her class. At two
years of age, Antsy won the WCA Western Futurity under judge Carl
Liepman, who had also awarded Antsy's father his Futurity in
1998. She then won 5 straight sets of points, including
three majors (one at a specialty), a best of breed over top specials, and her AM CH.
Antsy had a beautiful
profile and an incredible top line, but you simply couldn't
appreciate her until you saw her move. Her side gait left
you breathless!
After giving birth to 4 girls and 1 boy on Christmas Day 2005, she returned to the show ring for a short time in 2006 to win 2 Specialties, her Maturity, a group placement and land in the Top 20. Antsy retired from showing and went to live out her life with Jen Schaaf & Andy Harden, along with Antsy's daughter Addy. Sadly, Antsy was lost to veterinary negligence in December of 2007, just 7 months after joining her new family. You can read her story here, as it was published in The Weimaraner Magazine. |
